The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) has been operating since 2012 under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General. It mobilizes global scientific and technological knowledge on the challenges of sustainable development, including the design and implementation of the SDGs.
To mobilize these knowledge centers for practical problem solving on sustainable development, SDSN built a network of National and Regional SDSNs.
These networks coordinate SDSN’s 1000s of member institutions - universities, research centers, think tanks, and civil society organizations.
The Great Lakes Network is hosted by the University of Rwanda - College of Business and Economics - focusing on the mobilizing SDG implementation in Central and East Africa.
SDSN Great Lakes strives to promote the implementation of the SDGs in the region of Central and Eastern Africa. Through its activities, it takes the lead in mobilizing universities, research centers, and civil society in the region to take action and get involved.

The College of Business and Economics (UR-CBE) is one of the six colleges composing the University of Rwanda which was created in 2013 after the merger of all former public higher learning institutions.
The UR-CBE proudly boasts of four main campuses which include Gikondo, Huye, Nyagatare, and Rusizi, and has two Schools (Business and Economics) with various undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programs.
UR-CBE is a specialized institution offering programs in various disciplines related to sustainable business and economics. We are delighted to be building a movement of professionals that help move Central and East Africa's sustainable future.

SDSN Great Lakes since its launch in 2014, has been organizing and holding annual conferences and calling for homegrown solutions to address local development challenges.
Our initiatives engage researchers, academics, and youth to present innovative and practical projects that can help change the lives of people in the region for the better.
